Our ‘Activ Dragons’ Prepare To Unleash Their ‘Paddle Power’ In Aid Of The Children’s Hospital Charity

Our 'Activ Dragons' have certainly got fire in their bellies as they prepare for their challenge of propelling themselves across Manvers Lake, Rotherham, in a dragon boat to raise funds for The Children's Hospital Charity on Sunday 2nd June.

Our 17-strong team will be one of many one of many taking part in the first Theo's Dragon Boat Race named after the charity's mascot logo bear, who is a comforting friend to young patients and their families who visit Sheffield Children's Hospital.

The event is one of The Children's Hospital Charity's latest (and challenging!) fundraising initiatives to raise £2 million towards the build of a new world-class research and technology centre named the National Centre For Child Health Technology (NCCHT).

The centre will be run by the Sheffield Children''s NHS Foundation Trust which is one of only three dedicated children's hospital trusts in the UK. It will be based at the Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park – where innovation, sport and health come together.

Children, clinicians, inventors and engineers will be under the same roof, with state-of-the-art facilities for manufacturing, digital development and the opportunity to develop Sheffield Children's clinical care.
